Kilimanjaro Summit Climb · 12 October 2010
That's it now, just put the last amount on, and my total has reached £13,259.01!! I am amazed and so grateful for all the support I have been given from friends, family and of course Shoprite - I wouldn't have reached this amount if it wasn't for my wonderful work colleagues who have helped so much.
This has been a wonderful experience - thank you, kim xx
WE DID IT - ON WEDNESDAY 20TH OCTOBER AT 08:55 (06:55 bst) TEAM BREAKTHROUGH REACHED THE SUMMIT OF MOUNT KILIMANJARO!!

I would like to thank my family and friends without whose help, support and encouragement I would not be able to take on this challenge. Finally I would like to say a few special words of thanks to my husband, Geoff, who has promised to keep the house clean and tidy whilst I am away !!
Many thanks
Kim xx

I'm really feeling nervous now, I've been training for months and have just 12 days left before we leave the Island to start our awesome challenge - at 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes ever to break through the Earth's crust. My challenge is to reach its summit. It is a 8 day expedition which will involve bush trekking in unspoilt wilderness through every eco-system known to mankind, although with travel we will be away for 12 days! I've r
eceived my visa for Tanzania, had my yellow fever jab and all injections now complete!!!!
I'm enjoying the training and have had some fabulous walks with all the other Kili Trekkers who are doing this for Breakthrough. I feel lucky to have met them and am honoured to be included in this very special trip.
