Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to detect the odour of disease. Our research includes cancer, Parkinson's and other diseases and could save millions of lives by improving diagnostics. We already help people manage complex, life-threatening medical conditions by training Medical Alert Dogs.

Story

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has donated so far.  Am thrilled to say we both made it to the summit of Kilimanjaro on Friday 5th October at 8.30am!  Photos to follow shortly... :-)

On September 29th myself and best friend Justine will be heading to Kilimanjaro and will attempt to climb Africa's highest peak (and one of the Seven Summits) via the Rongai Route.  It all started off as a fun discussion over a glass of wine or two but 13 months, and a lot of training later, and we are nearly ready for the off!

The trek will last 8 days and will no doubt be a hugely physical and mentally demanding climb.  The 5,895m peak (just short of 20,000 feet) will certainly be a challenge of a lifetime and every little donation will really help spur us on to the summit during our final 16 hour push!

I am raising money for Medical Detection Dogs who are a fantastic charity where literally every penny counts.  They train dogs from an early age to support people with serious conditions such as diabetes by alerting them to possible hypo attacks just through their sense of smell.  These amazing dogs provide often life saving assistance and are an invaluable companion too.   For more information about their amazing work please visit the website - http://medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk/

Many thanks for taking the time to visit my page and a huge thank you for any donations.  Your money will really make a difference and will certainly spur me on to reach the roof of Africa!
