26 April 2019 is a day that Karen and myself will never forget, this was the day we received the terrible news that Pops, our dad, had small cell lung cancer and cancer in his lymph nodes. The chemotherapy and radiation treatment has been aggressive and tough on Pops but he has been an absolute trooper, he has not complained or lost his sense of humour throughout the gruelling treatment plan.  The doctors, nurses (especially Jackie), receptionists and indeed, all staff involved at the Cancer Village at Guy’s Hospital have been amazing all the way through, from the initial diagnosis, to receiving his treatment plan and finally to where we are today.   

To say a big thank you to the hospital and staff and in an attempt to try and give something back to those who have cared for us all during this time, Karen and I have signed up to the 2019 Urban Challenge (God help us!!!) which is taking place at Guys’ Hospital on Saturday, 28 September 2019.
