If you know me or someone in my family you’ll no doubt know
that Kim’s life was tricky to say the least. She battled with kidney failure
through the second half of her life, but did it with such enthusiasm and
determination it was a shock to say the least when she died in February after a
short but intense fight with cancer. That said, nothing held her back and she’d
be  running this with me now if she could!

In the absence of anything else that we can put our efforts
to on the first of her birthdays we’ll have without her – 20 of us are running
the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October. Friends and family of all shapes,
sizes and ages (ranging from 18 to 73!) will attempt the run with the same
enthusiasm and determination with which she lived her life.

We’re running for Team Verrico that are an amazing small
charity that supports families who are living with cancer, they’ve been a huge
support to Kim and to my mum and we want to give something back. It’s only when
you need support that you realise how many amazingly kind people there are
around.

We’ve all set ourselves a challenge - I’m aiming to knock 10 mins off my PB,
others have never run before! (so you know it’s going to hurt!).
