Story

Thank you so much for getting this far and clicking on the link!

I haven't owned a bike since I was ehhh maybe 13/14  (which is a long long long time ago).    So taking on this challenge is a big deal for me and my derriere (I seriously thought my current body cushion would be enough - its not....).  My employer Barclays will match pound for pound up to £1000 - you cant imagine how much that will help my chosen charity so dig deep! If I manage to raise £1k it will go up to 2k!

I will be doing this challenge with 4 of my close friends - we all met doing another form of exercise when we had our kids 7 years ago.  We met at buggy bootcamp where we attempted to exercise with our babies in buggies - lots of laughter, tears, prosecco, gin and the gaining of lifelong friendships for mummies and the kids.

If you happen to see me cycle please don't toot your horn - I am a cert to fall off :).

I have chosen to do this for Scottish Sports Futures because I love what they stand for and what they do.  I recently joined the charity's board and determined to do all I can to help them achieve their goals.  Fundraising for any charity remains a constant challenge and I hope in a small way I can help meet their fundraising target for this year.  Scottish Sports Futures use the power of sport and physical activity to engage with vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Scotland.  With the aim of empowering them to be confident, healthy and happy.  They use a Sports for Change model to provide positive experiences, inspiring role models, engaging social education, training and youth volunteering opportunities.  They want to help young people fulfil their potential.  They support over 12,000 people each year - which is an amazing number of young people to reach!  These sport and physical activities offer young people transformative ways to learn about about physical and mental wellbeing, goal setting, teamwork and active citizenship; they support young people from early interventions right through to training and employment.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and bruised bottom - every single penny makes a difference to young vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

Next year watch out for me on the Tour :).
