Story
Hi All,
As most of you will recall, when our lovely, little Jess was only 7 weeks old, she spent a week in the Starlight children's unit, Wythenshaw Hospital. She was admitted with breathing difficulties and spent a week in a plastic box, breathing in oxygen. Whilst we had a few tense days we are obviously the lucky ones as Jess is now a very happy, healthy 6 month old.
It was a real eye openner for us to see how hard all the staff work but also to see and understand the need for new equipment. They currently have a great need for a blood gas monitor, which is a piece of equipment used to test and diagnose children with breathing difficulties. At the moment, the ward is using a monitor in intensive care, which is a 25 minute trip across the hospital. In urgent situations, this is obviously a great concern to the staff.
They need to raise approximately £10,000 to buy this equipment and Simon and I would like to help them. Simon is the first to admit he is a very lucky man and rather than buy him a 40th birthday present, Simon would much rather you donate any amount you feel appropriate, which will go towards, what we feel to be a very worthy cause.
