Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Recently, my husband Mike has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It was a scary time, thankfully we found out early enough. We were told that, if we had not acted when we did, Mike would have been going into hospital in intensive care. Mike is my best friend, he means the world to me, I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to him.

Our lives have changed forever, thankfully we are learning to cope and we are managing the condition. Type 1 diabetes is a condition that cannot be cured, it cannot simply go away, all we can do is work hard to control it. Mike will have to inject himself with insulin multiple times a day for the rest of his life.

JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity, improving lives until they find a cure. JDRF fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes.  My goal is to raise £300!

So that's our story, that's why I'm doing the Liverpool walk to cure Diabetes and I need your help. Please sponsor me with anything you can, I want to help find a cure, I want Mike to have the best possible life he can because he deserves it. Type 1 diabetes can be hereditary, let's find the cure.
