I began running approximately 6 years ago having never run in my life before.  I joined a running group for ladies in Leyland and I am still a member of the group now, South Ribble Runners.  I have not run many races as I do not really enjoy them but have done a few 10k's, half marathons and 2 years ago ran the Brathay Marathon.  I said I would never run in marathon again unless I was lucky enough to get a ballot place in the London Marathon, it was my 3rd attempt at entering and I was one of the lucky ones to be chosen.  I have decided that if I am running another marathon and shoud try and raise some money in the process.

In October 2012 my dad at the age of 77 was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, he was lucky they caught it early as he had kept up to date with all his checks.  In January 2013 he underwent 8 weeks of radiotherapy at the Rosemere Unit at Preston Hospital.  He went every day Monday to Friday and all of us have to say that all the staff were fantastic and got my Dad through a very difficult time.  He has just had is 79th Birthday and is doing very well still managing to work part-time 3 afternoons a week.

This is just my way of saying Thank you to everybody who helped in my dad's treatment and recovery.  Any money big or small would be so much appreciated.

Thank you. xxx
