For the last nearly 3 years dementia took ahold of my Grandma. Not only did it take the person she was, it left her bedbound without the ability to eat/drink by herself and nearer the end it took her ability to speak too. Dementia also got ahold of Grandad before we lost him last year. 

Dementia...I’d never heard of it before 2015 and I really hope to never experience it again. To say I didn’t cope seeing my loved ones like that is an absolute understatement. I wished I’d been stronger to be able to do more.

The extremely hard times, effort, grief, around the clock care, upset and loss the family have given and experienced is something I’d never wish on anyone, however it happens daily to millions of families. So here’s me doing a bit more than I managed whilst they were here, fundraising for more research to help stop others feeling what I’m feeling now.
