We provide support and fund vital research to make myeloma history

Story

In July 2016 my mum suddenly fell ill, and she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, an incurable form of blood cancer. She was told that with chemotherapy she would have up to two more years - she was amazing, so positive and determined to make the most of her time left, and she started planning some adventures - but it was not to be, the cancer was too aggressive and just a month later she died from this brutal disease.
She would be pleased with the description of being a bit mad, so in memory of her I shall be doing something a bit mad - a charity skydive on 20th May 2017 to raise funds into finding a cure for myeloma. I'm not being truly altruistic as myeloma has a genetic link and I do not want any more members of my family suffering as my mum did.

I understand how personal a decision it is to donate money, there are so many worthy causes we cannot support them all, but a £1 is just as gratefully received and every penny counts!

A little more about Mum: she passed away so very suddenly, but she did so with the same grace, dignity and kindness that she showed throughout her life.
Jenny was an incredibly spiritual person, who devoted so much of her life to radiating kindness and love in her search for joy, happiness and peace. She was a wonderful, caring and loving mother and grandmother, and all her family are eternally grateful and thankful for all of the time that She spent in caring for and looking after her grand-children.
Although in later years mum was contented to live a quiet life in Norfolk she had had her fair share of adventures, she had lived in New York in the 60’s and made it into the local papers as being the only woman to learn judo – and in Harlem at that; and she had travelled around India with her son Simon.
Mum had had a variety of jobs over the years, Nanny, childminder, she had bred Yorkshire Terriers, and been a doctors receptionist, however when she was asked by a nurse in hospital what her career had been she said ‘Oh lots of different things but most importantly I was a mum”.

Some of the things people have said about Jenny:
She had a unique and wonderful style; Very kind, sweet and positive;
A very dear and understanding friend; A remarkable woman; A free spirit, Never conventional; She was always lovely and beautiful with a wonderful smile
