Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As a complete 'non runner' it might seem strange that I am putting myself through a marathon, but it is actually something that I've always wanted to do. And if there's ever a time to give it a go, its now. I started running earlier this year to do the Race For Life 10k in June (which I completed in a respectable 52mins) so I'm not starting from a complete 'couch potato' situation. That said, I'm 47 years old now, mother of two and finding the time to train isn't easy - but I'm determined to do it.
The NSPCC has always been close to my heart. I met my husband 17 odd years ago climing Kilimanjaro for them and is strongly believe in their cause. So, 2016 is the 30 year anniversary of 'Childline' and they are the main sponsors of 2016's London Marathon, so its all fallen into place.
So, 6 months to raise £2200 and get to a point where I can run 26 miles. Do I think I can do it? Well, I'm abit daunted to be honest, but I've got to give it my best shot and I do love a challenge!
Thanks for helping me everyone...
