As most of you know we have passion for the great outdoors and snowboarding in particular, when we heard about the charity, Snow Camp and the Everest Challenge we decided to go for it.

The Everest Challenge is a unique 3 day charity snowsports event. The challenge is to ski or snowboard a total of 150km in 48 hours, including a night ski session and a night mountain hike - whew!!  We will of course be snowboarding - none of this two planks for us he he.

The main reason we decided to go for it was after hearing about the great work that Snow Camp does for inner-city youth. Snow Camp gives kids the chance to get out of their anti-social environments, teaching them life skills, while learning new skills like skiing or snowboarding. They also focus on the vocational side providing opportunties to work in the snowsports industry in the future.

Through the combination of snowsports and life-skills, their programmes enable young people to grow in confidence and self esteem, develop as individuals and make positive choices for their lives.
