Story
My grandad sadly passed away on the 6th April 2019, he had suffered with dementia for several years. Dementia is a cruel condition that robs sufferers of their memories and their dignity and is heartbreaking for families to watch. Sadly more and more people are affected by dementia..
I started running in January 2019 as a way to improve my mental health and after a few Park runs I set myself a challenge of running the Great north run. I completed this in 2 hours 28 minutes (and 6 seconds) on the 8th September. I am now running the Manchester half on October 13th as my running journey continues.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
