Kirsty's page in memory of my wonderful mum Ann Leslie

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·
September 11th 2018, I was sat with my mum when we got told that my mum had rectal cancer (a type of bowel cancer). From that moment, my life changed forever. You always see on TV shows how they suddenly break down, and you wonder why.. well I broke down too, the thought of losing my mum was just unimaginable.
For the following 9months my mum remained in either the hospital/ care homes/ or hospices.
I finally watched her be at piece on June 24th 2019, when she was only 65 .
Prior to the diagnosis my mum was being tested for heamorroids, under going many meds to "cure it". I am trying to raise awareness and spread the news about Bowel Cancer and the initial signs, so when going to a Dr they look into cancer first, rather than something minor.
If my mum could handle what she went through with dignity, the least I can do is try and run this London Landmarks marathon!
Please join me in raising awareness so other families don't have to go through the same heart break.
