Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·

We work in some of the world's poorest places, where people suffer the effects of conflicts beyond their control. We are specialists in supporting communities that are remote, difficult to get to and difficult to work in. Put simply, we help children in places other charities just don't go.

Story

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not the type to be running.  I would much prefer to sit down with a nice coffee and 10 digestive biscuits than go out in the cold and get wet and tired.

I am trying to change my lifestyle and shed six stone in weight so far I have lost three and a half and am well on the way.  So I have been getting a bit complacent - I can loose the weight easily and out come the biscuits again.  This is reason number one that I have signed up to run the marathon this year.  My children deserve a mum who will be around a while and someone to be proud of!

Number two is that I believe in Education - that is why I run a training company - and I believe that education can change lives.  I know that it is the only way to bring peace in to the world and to protect children from abuse and neglect.  Children in Crisis deal with the cause of the problem and delivers education in so many ways that I wanted to support this charity.   Now when I put on my running shoes I know why I am doing it and I know who will benefit - it is not just about me anymore.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Children in Crisis will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now - and watch me run!

Many thanks for your support.
