Pat Mhone 3rd August 1947 - 19th January 2021

Pat passed away last year in Malawi on the 19th January after contracting Coronavirus. His loss was totally unexpected and it has left a huge hole in our lives. 

Pat loved life and took great energy in helping people and giving back to the communities that he lived in. Which is why we have decided to raise money for MAHECAS a charity close to his heart. 

Pat was one of the founding members of Malawi Healthcare Support UK (MAHECAS) in 1995. Both Pat and his Wife Ethel were at the forefront and remained dedicated members. He served MAHECAS firstly as a committee member from 1995 and then as Vice Chair from 1999 to 2001. MAHECAS was in its infancy which meant he was at the forefront of shaping MAHECAS as we know it today.

MAHECAS - aims to relieve sickness and preserve good health among hospitals, health clinics, surgeries and other places where Primary Health care is dispensed in Malawi by the provision of medical and other equipment and of medical expertise, training and personnel. 

Raising money for a charity that was so close to Pat’s heart would definitely be something he would have approved of.
