Story
Wonderful all the generous donations that have come in. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING 100K WALK FOR THE BACK UP TRUST. Close to the target now..so do please keep it coming in..thanks again.
The team made it through the night in 22 1/2 hours. The painkillers worked! Was long, very long indeed! Yet also beautiful to enjoy the changing scenery along the meandering river.
We walked through the night to raise money for a fantastic Back Up project to enable a group of spinal cord injured people to have the chance to be skiing in the mountains in Sweden.Life can be like walking along the edge of a razor blade. One slip and you can loose it, or change it. Mike Nemesvary, the British Olympic Aerial skier, , broke his back on a trampoline, and he has inspired so many to realise that one accident does not have to take everything away. Please donate on this Just Giving page so that Back Up can enable another group of spinal cord injured people to experience and the wonder and freedom of skiing. Sophie, my good friends, Barry Andrews, Stefan Wojciechowski, Joss Holmes will be walking for 60 miles along the Thames, from Putney to Henley.
I have been involved with Back Up for 27 years and it is amazing to see how the Back Up work impacts so positively. The Back Up Trust facilitate brilliant life changing support and development for people with spinal cord injuries.
