We think differently about dementia to support people to live fulfilled lives

Story

I am hoping to raise the awareness of Dementia and the good work that this particular charity does in supporting those living with it. To do so, a few friends and I will be attempting to complete the biannual 2swim4life challenge over the Easter weekend. We will each be swimming one mile every hour, on the hour, for 24 hours.

More than half of the UK know someone who has been diagnosed with a form of dementia. For most it will be a parent or grandparent who  they see experiencing memory loss, growing confusion or even personality change. This disease put huge strain on relationships  severely affect the well being of both those being cared for and those doing the caring.

Dementia Adventure aims to improve the physical, mental and emotional well being of those with dementia and their carers by (re)connecting them with the outdoors, nature, their communities and themselves.

Dementia Adventure thinks differently about dementia. We look at what people can do, not what they can’t. We offer supported holidays and dementia training so people with dementia can get outside, experience the wellbeing benefits of nature and enjoy more active and fulfilled lives.
