Story
I'm an operational member of S.A.R.A.I.D, a British charity dedicated to trying to save the lives of innocent victims of disaster, as well as relieving human suffering anywhere in the world.
2020 has been a tough year for everyone, and SARAID and our Community Resilience Team have been busy helping others wherever we can.
Our International team deployed to Beirut to help out following the explosion there in August, our C.R.T have been busy assisting in the COVID response doing community residential welfare checks and helping distribute food parcels.
Other members have been busy in their local community, putting their international relief coordination skills into practice in a more local setting, helping these in their immediate area.
Doing all this, and the UK restrictions has meant our fundraising activities have been severely curtailed this year, so we need your help and generosity. Please support us with a donation, as a small charity literally EVERY penny counts.
S.A.R.A.I.D receives no government funding, lottery grants or anything like that. We rely entirely on the generosity and support of the public to help finance the work that we do
We have no paid staff or executives, no expensive offices or headquarters. Every penny donated goes to helping save lives by training rescue workers, providing rescue equipment and the costs of the rescue missions we undertake.
Staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers, S.A.R.A.I.D is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to provide trained Search and Rescue personnel, free of charge to any country in need of assistance.
Our team members come from professions and walks of life and include Office workers, builders, shopworkers, tradesmen and women and many other professions as well as emergency service personnel.
