Story

At 35 years old, I am a wife, a mom of three little ones and a Salvation Army Officer in Newfoundland, Canada.  18 months ago I began a journey of wholeness and wellness where I began focusing on my spiritual, physical, emotional and mental well-being.  In the middle of that, I began running!  I have never been an athlete - not once did I make it on a sports team in school - but with running, I have pushed the limits of my body, mind and spirit.

In the winter of 2017, I made three goals that focused on my physical well-being - to reform what my body takes in, run a 10 miler, as well as a 1/2 marathon.  All three goals were accomplished by Fall 2017. I am so excited to be working towards something else on my bucket list - a full marathon.  I am even more blessed to be accomplishing this goal in the EPIC London Marathon with The Salvation Army UK Team.  It will be an intense Fall and Winter as I train but with the support of my family and your support I know I can reach my financial goal for The Salvation Army and accomplish this dream.

As a Salvation Army Officer, I have had the privileged of seeing first hand the impact that hope can have in the darkest of situations.  The Salvation Army provides more than shelter, food and clothing - we provide community, dignity, love and respect to people of all walks of life.  I am so blessed to have this opportunity, but even more blessed to be part of a world wide organization the fights for the most vulnerable in our society.

Thank you for journeying with me and for giving in this meaningful way.
