My name is Kristina and I was diagnosed with PCOS around my 17th birthday. At the time, it was a relief to know and made all the side effects (no periods, extra hair, hard to lose weight, etc.) make sense. Now, as I'm entering my 30s, a new challenge has been set. Am I ever going to be able to have my own children? Will I have to have fertility treatment? Is my only option adoption? 

This is why I have chosen to take part in Sunderland's Boxing Day Dip. This will give me the opportunity to take part in an event and raise money for the charity, Verity, who are asking all the right questions and pushing the visibility of this condition everyday.
