I have decided to walk 1.1 million  steps for all victims of 2019. Each year there are 1.1 million reports of domestic abuse to the police in England and Wales. The number is astounding. I know when this has impacted in my world that is just ONE of the 1.1 million. 

Domestic Abuse increases with significant events - Christmas, birthdays, sports events are just three. The most dangerous time for a victim of domestic abuse is when they try and leave!  

So my 'walk' starts on Christmas Eve, a day of high reporting of domestic abuse. I hope to be finished by Valentine's day - a time for celebration of relationships. 

If I am not done by then, I will just keep plodding on.... in honour of the events that will have happened in 2019 and are yet to come.
