Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

My dad, John Speller died at the end of July of metastic sarcomatoid carcinoma of the prostate, one of the rarest forms of prostate cancer with less than 100 recorded cases worldwide. Dad fought for 5 short months, never giving up hope but this form of cancer is so rare and so aggressive that my wonderful, sporty, generous dad unfortunetely never stood a chance. With the help of Prostate Cancer UK and their research there are many men out there who still have a good chance of recovery and their support to both the family and the cancer patient are invaluable.

The bike challenge is on the 24th June 2016 and is the first stage of the 2016 Tour de France, from Mont Saint Michel to Utar beach, 188 kms/117 miles to be completed in 1 day. It's a first for me! I don't own a road bike (yet!) but I want to do this not just for charity but for me, to have a positive, life changing experience to remember my dad.

Please support me and Prostate cancer UK in whatever way you can, every little helps!
