Derby Cathedral Abseil 2017 · 9 September 2017 ·

As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, we brighten the short lives of babies, children and young people who come to Rainbows. We want them to have fun and make special memories. We are also here to support their loved ones through the most difficult times of their lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving

Saturday 9th September 2017, We will be abseiling Derby's 212ft cathedral, the second highest cathedral tower in the country!
We will climb 189 steps of the historic 212ft high tower to the top, then we will make an descent back to the ground by abseiling down the outside of the tower.

We are doing this to raise money for the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People to support life limited and terminally ill children and young people from across the East Midlands.

The charity Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. Their incredible team of people helps relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.

As many of my friends are aware I suffer from aplastic anemia, which is form of leukaemia at the age of 12. I spent 3 years of my life in and out of hospital, however I was lucky enough to get better. I had many charities do some amazing things for me, this was my little bit of light when all I was going through was pain and feeling ill. Not only did charities support me, for my specialised treatment I had to leave my home town and move half way up the country, charities also supported my family through this.

This is charity very close to my heart and I will be putting on my brave face for the whole 212ft. Anything that you can sponsor me I will be very grateful

Many thanks
Krystle and Anthony
