Story

"So... Krystyna, you're doing what now?"
"Going to Borneo!"
"Why on earth would you do that?"
"Because it's awesome!  I've been offered the chance to Project Manage a group of teens and early twenties young people doing community and environmental projects in really poor and deprived areas."
"What kind of things?"
"Well, like building kindergartens, cataloguing animal species, building gravity feed water systems, you know."
"You?"
"Yep."
"What are the conditions like?"
"Pretty basic... err... very basic... fine, fine, I might get a bucket to wash with... stop sniggering over there!"
"So.  You're managing a bunch of teenagers... in Borneo... with no real amenities, no car and no internet... this has got to be worth watching!"
"Well, if you sponsor me it'll definitely happen.  Otherwise, I might just lurk behind you and make animal noises all summer!"

*

This summer, I am off to Borneo with Raleigh International as a manager!  It's going to be tough, challenging, amazing and worthwhile as I help a bunch of teens and young people from across the world do some really great things, and hopefully develop along the way.

However, to do it, I need to raise nearly two thousand pounds in the next few months.  Which is immense, but I realised that if 200 people sponsor me £10 each, I could get there without resorting to the sort of thing that might get me featured on a dubious exposé on Channel 5.

So please, please, please help me to get to Borneo.  And if begging isn't enough, here are some reasons why you might want to help:

* Think of all the snakes, insects and deadly peril I will be facing - place bets now!
* I might get abducted by Orangutans which would have comedy value.
* When you're relaxing out in the sunshine, you can know that I will be digging trenches, doing hard labour, and avoiding sunburn in 30 degree plus heat.
* There's no alcohol allowed on the expedition - no wine for months!  If you know me, then you know that deserves some sponsorship ;).
* I'm slightly nervous about managing a bunch of teenagers.  I think this deserves a round of applause if nothing else.

And finally...

* Because Raleigh does some really important work and couldn't survive without donations.

So please, please, donate anything you can, and send this onto friends, family and co-workers.  It takes 200 people giving £10, and I'm there.

I have my fingers crossed!
