Event: Mouth Cancer 10 KM Awareness Walk 2020, on 4 October 2020
Walk a total of 10 KM, as many times as you like, on your own or with your family and pets, around the comfort of your own home, garden or local area! The charity is encouraging as many people as possible to take part in this FREE 10 KM walk.

Story

My husband, Jerry, was diagnosed with mouth cancer in February 2014, he had a radical neck dissection and lymph nodes removed, floor of mouth removed and rebuilt from his arm and part of his tongue removed, followed by radiotherapy.

In June 2015 he was diagnosed with Osteoradionecrosis of the jaw which means he suffers ongoing infections through a fistula. He will need to have surgery to build a new jaw at some point in the future.

The side effects have been life changing. If diagnosed early, less surgery and treatment is needed.

This is why every day for 60 days until the end of November I've accepted the challenge to undertake the 10km Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk for The Mouth Cancer Foundation.
