As most of you know,this year I’m the President of The Edinburgh Bowling League.We the EBL undertake various fundraising activities throughout the year,with the President selecting a charity to raise money for.We have supported some fantastic charities over the years and I’m proud to say this year the EBL are supporting Richmond’s Hope 

Richmond’s Hope is a small local charity based in Craigmillar Parish church.This wonderful charity provides help and support to the children of Edinburgh that have been bereaved.The charity provides a safe space where children can work through their grief  both verbally and non verbally,to preserve memories of the person who has died,to explore their feelings,to develop coping strategies and to understand the impact the bereavement has had on their life.

I lost my wife early in 2013 and this facility was offered to my 5 year old son Jake.The small dedicated team provided a fantastic service and thankful Jake wasn’t deemed necessary to undergo any long term assistance.The charity has also been offered in the past  to another of Craigentinny Bowling Club’s members,helping Kirsty overcome the painful passing of her grandparent.

On sunday 23rd September Richmond Hope have organised a sponsored walk around Arthur’s Seat .With great excitement Jake and Kirsty have formed “TEAM EBL” ! A large following of friends and family to complete the walk and raise money for Richmond’s Hope.
