Shakespeare Autumn 10K · 11 November 2017

A young person’s background mustn’t determine their future. At Envision, we empower young people from less-advantaged backgrounds to develop essential skills and confidence as they deliver a social action project that makes a positive change in their school or college community.

Story

As a team, some of us have been involved with Envision for a number of years, working with students from the local communities through a series of work shops designed to develop young people's employability by empowering them to tackle real-life social problems.

This year, Laura was keen to get involved again but after organising everything with the charity and drumming up support to run the workshops for another year running, she had another challenge to face... to raise the money the charity need to support the programme.

That's where the Shakespeare Autumn Run comes in... as well as volunteering to take part in the sessions we (somewhat stupidly) also put ourselves forward to run 10K to try to make up the sum as a team. Now, those of you who know us may know we are not exactly top athletes but pushing ourselves to run 10K is well worth it if we can ensure our ability to support such a worthwhile charity and initiative.

By raising the money needed, we will be able to continue to support this amazing programme for yet another year and give young people the opportunities and support to tackle key issues such unemployability and social mobility and gain the confidence they need to grow into the working world.

Please donate what you can to help us reach our goal and we will keep you updated with our progress along the way!

Thanks,
Clare, Dave, Jayne, Ryan, Stu, Ben, Matt, Stan and Laura
