Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Although rivalled by once in a lifetime experiences, the most memorable part of studying abroad in Malaysia for a year were the amazing people we met. We went from complete strangers on the 15th of September 2013 to close friends as we discovered the quirks of living in SE Asia and now people are getting married.... We've been through a lot!!

Jannik, an all round brilliant guy, made daily campus life in the middle of the jungle full of laughter, saved us from Jurassic park sized spiders and convinced everyone Hamilton was the best F1 driver. Unfortunately in January 2015 he passed away from a congenital heart defect. Consequently George, Adam and I have decided to cycle from London to Paris to raise money for CRY in his memory.

They're a great charity who support children diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions, provide bereavement support to families and promote heart screening programmes.
