The Little Edi Foundation is an Essex based non-profit where children and young people are at the heart of the organisation. We believe all children should have equal access to education and learning development, enabling them to reach their full potential by volunteering here in the UK and overseas

Story

The Little Edi Foundation is an Essex based non-profit charity where children and young people are at the heart of the organisation.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the UK, The Little Edi Foundation has worked quickly and tirelessly to respond to community needs across Essex. We have rapidly adapted our activities to prioritise supporting Essex residents who are most vulnerable to the virus and its impacts. As children and young people are at the heart of the organisation, our COVID-19 Community Relief programme focuses on protecting the safety and well-being of vulnerable children including

  • distributing food, hygiene packs and schools supplies
  • supporting local food banks by donating food, hygiene packs and clothing
  • shopping for essential items for those who are unable to or have difficulty leaving their homes
  • providing a one-stop-shop for parents and carers in need of guidance and reassurance

After Covid-19, the Little Edi Foundation will continue our Essex projects.  Vulnerable families will still receive supplementary boxes to the food bank.  As an Educational Charity we will also highlight 3 or 4 junior schools in Essex to ensure the most vulnerable children get free school uniform, shoes and a rucksack for their return to school in September.

We THANK YOU very much in advance for your donation to support our valuable work in Essex.

About the organisation:

Since 2016, The Little Edi Foundation has provided learning and development opportunities for disadvantaged and disengaged 13-18 year olds from Essex.  We create opportunities for Essex youth to engage in social action by volunteering. Supporting our humanitarian projects both locally (Essex) and internationally (Moldova), students have benefited from improved relationships with peers and adults, improved  behaviour and management of emotions, and increase in their self-esteem. We believe by providing young people the opportunity to “give back”, they have developed key skills that prepare them for the working world.
