AngelmanUK is a United Kingdom based support group for those affected by the rare genetic condition Angelman Syndome (AS). A diagnosis of AS will have life changing consequences and we are there to help families cope. We also advise medical and care professionals dealing with this rare condition.

Story

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.

COVID-19 has affected all of us in one way or another and it has also taken its toll on a whole spectrum of organisations. Unfortunately, the pandemics impact on small scale UK charities like Angelmans UK have been particularly damaging!

Angelmans syndrome is a rare neurological disorder which affects around 1 in every 20000 children. These children are challenged from birth, by delayed development, severe learning difficulties, little or no speech, and problems with movement and balance. Those affected almost always require support throughout their lives.

Angelmans UK works closely with children suffering from the condition and their families, whether thats occupational therapy for an affected child or counselling for parents going through a particularly tough period, Angelmans UK are there day in, day out improving the lives of those affected one step at a time.

So being keen cyclists we've decided to invest in a few more cycling jerseys, some pannier racks and what will be a months supply of protein bars to send the gruelling 900+ miles/1440+ kilometres between the most South West point of England, up to the most North East point of Scotland aiming to tackle the whole thing in just two weeks!

Every penny you can give will make a difference. (Please remember gift aid) Thank you for your time and even more for your support!
