The Great Hospital Hike · 18 September 2021 ·
On Saturday 28 March 2020 we will be taking on the Great Hospital Hike in support of King's College Hospital Charity.
We are raising funds for the UK's first patient support group for NAFLD/NASH created by Dr Saima Ajaz at King's College Hospital earlier this year. We hold group meetings every two months as well as producing newletters to help educate and empower our patients.
The prevalence of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) in the general population is estimated at 20–30%. Around 2–3% of the population have Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). NAFLD is more common in people who have type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome [NICE].
