Three Peaks Challenge · 12 July 2013 to 15 July 2013 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a group friends from Lost Souls of Trent (LSOT) hiking group formerly made at Nottingham Trent University.  Students times have long gone now, but these days we still like to meet up and go hiking throughout the year.  This year we decided that we should add a bit of "spice" and set ourselves a challenge so we have decided to do the Three peaks challenge.

This in tells hiking the three highest top of UK in 24 hours (including driving time): Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (The Lakes) and finally Snowdon (Wales).  We are all really looking forward to it and have started regular training sessions, but we know this won't be achieved without a few lows and a couple of good blisters! In those moments, there would be nothing more important than thinking of all the support and funds raised to keep us going.

Hence we would be very grateful for any donation to our chosen charity, Alzheimer's Society.

As you may know, dementia affects over 800,000 people in the UK alone with numbers set to rise to one million by 2021. The Alzheimer's Society provides information and support for people with all forms of dementia and those who care for them. It runs quality care services, funds research, advises professionals and campaigns for improved health andsocial care and greater public understanding of dementia.
