A team from LST have decided to take on the 3 peaks challenge - you may well ask why......
The challenge is to complete the 3 peaks, being Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, plus all travelling between the three, over the week-end of 10th/11th September, with the real challenge to see if we can do this within 24 hours!!!!!
Why?? would indeed be a good question to ask do this bunch want to give up their week-end to tramp around a few hills!! Simple really, it's the challenge of doing this in the time frame, obviously the camaraderie within the team, a certain need to be fitter - although we do recognise that there are other ways of doing this and one hugely important reason is to support the Muscular Dystrophy charity.
Muscular dystrophy
Muscular Dystrophy (md) is the term used to describe a group of conditions, which progressively waste or weaken muscles. It is often genetically inherited but a significant number of cases occur in families with no previous history where a gene spontaneously changes, so it can appear out of the blue. It affects babies, children and adults of any age or background. It is estimated that over 150,000 people in the UK are affected by md in some way.
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign (MDC) has been working for years to help children and families come to terms with the impact of the disease by providing practical, medical and emotional support to people affected.
Therefore this is the bit were we need your help, we would be delighted if you were able to support this challenge with a donation to this charity, however small or large.
Thank-you in advance for your support.
