We are raising money for a small charity called Village by Village whose aim is to provide clean water, sanitation and education in remote rural African villages.

We will be volunteering in eastern Ghana and working with Village by Village to help build community facilities including wells and sanitation as only half of rural Ghana has access to safe drinking water. We will also be working in a newly-built medical centre and helping in the remote villages with the monitoring and care of new-born babies.

All the money we raise goes to the charity and over 95% goes directly to the villages. Even a small donation will make a big difference - just under a third of Ghanaians live on around 80p a day. We will also be taking out old mobile phones which can be traded for concrete to build much-needed facilities.
