Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page through which I wanted to raise funds for ParkinsonsUK who rely entirely on voluntary contributions. Parkinson'sUK  offer support for sufferers like me and their carers, but we deserve a cure and your help to fund research to find one.

Parkinson's is a relatively low-profile disease as far as social media is concerned and rarely mentioned - most people don't (or didn't until I signed up for this challenge) know I have it - I am lucky, I have the "Rolls Royce" of the medication available to me and if I am careful i can manage my condition most of the time and I hope my symptoms will always be behind the medication available to me - but it would amazing not to always have that niggle in my psyche - and know that there is a cure for Parkinson's. It would bring relief both physical and psychological to millions of people like me who just want to be normal again without being reminded four times a day when they take medication that no matter how they try to deny it, they are ill and there's no way back.

Anyway.......whilst waiting for a cure that Parkinson'sUK is aiming to find in 'in years not decades' I have a determination not to roll over and lie down  and this challenge to Iceland - although a bit ambitious - is something I wanted to do!

So THANK YOU TO everyone who donated and supported me and helped me cross this one off my list!
