Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I decided to raise money for ACLT in celebration of my 50th birthday.

ACLT promotes awareness of blood, bone marrow (stem cell) and organ donation onto the UK Bone marrow and organ registers, in support of those suffering from blood cancers, serious blood disorders or organ failure in the UK.

They also provide patient and family support for those suffering from the mentioned illnesses.
I'd like to support the ACLT through fundraising to continue raising awareness and increase the number of donors on the register, particularly from the Black and Minority Ethnic  (BAME) community.

Statistics show that if you are a white person in need of a bone marrow transplant, you have a 1 in 5 chance of finding multiple donors. However, if you are Black, mixed race or Asian you have at best a 1 in 100,000 chance of finding a single donor. There are many people from the BME community who need urgent help!

This funding will go a long way to support this incredible cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
