For the past decade, I have classified myself as a "runner." Running is responsible for where I am in life today and has given me more good times than I can remember. I have met some of my dearest and closest friends through the sport; a simple training run was even responsible for introducing me to my wife. I have gained so much from running and now it is time to use running to give back.

On April 28th of 2019, I will be running the London Marathon. It will be my 18th marathon overall and will wrap up my goal of completing the Abbott World Marathon Majors (Chicago, Boston, New York, Berlin, Tokyo and London). The London Marathon will also be my swan song for the marathon as I plan to step away from the 26.2 mile distance after this race. This is my plan to run off into the sunset.

All of my previous marathons have been about me. I want this race to be about something greater. This race is for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The RMHC is one of the greatest resources in the world that you never want to have to use. Our son was born a month ahead of his due date, but we were fortunate enough to have a perfectly healthy 5lbs 4oz baby who came home with us two days later. I cannot imagine what it is like to have a child in need and have to also juggle "where/how are we going to stay?" RMHC has always had a place in my heart but after having a child, it has a permanent residence within me.
