Thames Path Challenge 2014 · 13 September 2014 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Hello again.

Yes I have taken on another challenge. I have wanted to do this challenge for a few years now. Walking part of the Thames Path- how wonderful.

As many of you know a few years ago my wonderful mother-in-law died from Pancreatic Cancer. It was a shock to us all to lose her as she was such an amazing person. Mu had fought and won against cancer 13 years  earlier so for her to be diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer was a shock. Mu dedicated a lot of her time to volunteer and fundraiser for Macmillan ( fashion shows were her forte ,no surprise there ,as she was such an elegant and stylish lady) Needless to say we all miss her very much. My girls talk about her a lot.

Pancreatic Cancer sadly does not have a good survival rate. Only 3% of people diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer survive 5 years or more. This statistic has not changed for 40 years.

Which is why I am doing this 50km walk to try and raise awareness and money for this very important charity.

Please please donate whatever you can.

Thank you all so much in advance. I really appreciate you your support.
