Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Thank you SO much for visiting our page! As you may have noticed, my brother and I have a pretty hefty target to achieve but it's for such a fantastic cause and we know that we can do it with the support of people like you!

Marie Curie Hospice, Newcastle provide specialist care to people living with a terminal illness and support their families, completely free. They truly believe that every day of your life matters- from the first to the last- and provide physical, emotional and spiritual care round-the-clock for patients, with support for those who are close to them.

We heard about the Costa Rica Trek 2018  on the radio and thought it would be such a fantastic challenge to take on. Admittedly, we were both pretty daunted by the fundraising target we have to achieve but knowing that the money will benefit people with terminal illnesses and their families will no doubt keep us powering through! And of course there's the opportunity to challenge ourselves with the fundraising, the trek itself and have some sibling bonding time too!!

The trek takes place between 20th-28th January 2018, which seems like ages away but there's a lot to be done in terms of fundraising before then! We're going to be throwing ourselves into activities such as quiz nights, bag-packing, bake sales, sporting events, good old-fashioned bucket shaking and more in aid of Marie Curie Hospice, Newcastle. We would greatly appreciate anything that you can spare towards this worthy cause. Here are some examples of where your money will go:

£10  provides 40 bereavement booklets for people who've lost someone close to them.

£20  enables a Marie Curie Nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness for one hour, in the comfort of their own home.

£70  lets someone with a terminal illness attend day therapy at a Marie Curie Hospice, benefiting from gentle exercise, an art class and more.

Thank you once again for visiting this page and for any donation that you can spare. You can donate on our page or text CHIS50 and your donation amount in £ to 70070. It's that easy! Also, you can get involved with any of the events we organise in the build up to the trek, and we will keep you updated on those and our training journey through this page.

We really appreciate your support and know that with it we can SMASH this target.

So here goes...

LET'S DO THIS!!!
