Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In just under 2 months time I am taking on the National Three Peaks challenge along with my boyfriend Lewis, to raise money for an amazing local charity called Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer. This involves climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike all in 24 hours!!!
After my Mum was diagnosed towards the end of last year, it became apparent just how many people are affected by this particular type of cancer and this number is steadily growing. Currently it is thought that 1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, with predictions that this will change to 1 in 4 in the next 10 years. Survival rates however are improving all thanks to continued research, more effective treatments and faster / earlier diagnosis, alongside the amazing things that charities like Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer continue to do every day to support those directly affected by the disease.
Its great to support a charity like this as you can see exactly where the donations are going. Since 2000, LFBC has given over £1million to Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital, helping fund groundbreaking equipment enabling the unit to be labelled as a 'centre of excellence'. LFBC also does campaigns like awareness roadshows, sourcing masectomy bras, bespoke real hair wigs and much much more that can be found on their website: www.lfbc.org.uk
Any donation no matter how small would mean the absolute world to my family and I. We are genuinely terrified about doing this challenge so your support means a lot!!!
