Story
This year I thought planning a wedding and taking on additional responsibilities at work was missing another challenge to cement that age old saying "everything happens in threes is perfect".
And what better way to get in shape for the big day than attempting an Ultra.
Having reached out to you all back in 2016 when I completed the London Marathon, I wanted to step up my game when appealing for your donations once again. This time, along with my good friend from University Rachel Jamieson, my sister-in-law Vikki Drain and our fellow bootcampers, we will be more than doubling the distance to walk, jog or run 106km around the stunning coastal path of the Isle of Wight.
I have chosen to support a charity that focuses on preserving our beautiful oceans, because I want to find ways to help look after our environment for generations to come. More information about the charity below.
Our mission is to raise the global awareness of the issues facing our marine and coastal environments in order to protect and conserve them for future generations. Just One Ocean has developed a number of projects to achieve this mission. We are currently undertaking and supporting scientific research in several disciplines, advising on community based programmes, supporting businesses and arts projects. The work we do is diverse, but so are the problems facing the ocean.
