Team: Remembering Ella Bury
Along with other class mates, I am taking part in a Zumbathon, on Friday January 30th to raise money for Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. For this fundraising event I will be dancing for up too three hours led by a professional Zumba instructor. This is in memory of Ella Bury, a student who sadly passed away in the summer of 2014 before able to join my A Level Dance class at Solihull Sixth Form College.
Sudden Adult Death can occur to anyone of any age, at any point in their life, devastating family and friends. This unexpected death can happen during sleep, whilst awake, or just after exercise. Most sudden deaths are due to a heart condition and are known as Sudden Arrhythmia Death or Sudden Cardiac Death Syndrome, caused by the rhythm of the heart.
There is no way that this sudden death can be treated or found, however the placement of Defibrillators in public places can prevent the death by adjusting the hearts rhythm at the time of a sudden heart attack. Therefore it is important that money is raised to provide this vital life saving equipment, and research into the condition to prevent this tragedy happening to others.
