Laura's 21 miler for CICRA · 3 October 2020
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of ten, and I spent years in and out of hospital trying various medicines and treatments. I eventually had life-saving surgery when my bowel perforated, and now permanently live with an ileostomy bag.
Research has resulted in a great advancement in medicines and ostomy appliances over the years. It is thanks to charities like CICRA that I have a much greater quality of life.
I was due to run the Great North Run this year to raise funds for CICRA, however with the unfortunate ongoing situation with Covid-19, this was cancelled. On Ostomy Awareness Day 2020, I plan to run 1 mile for every year that I have lived with Crohn's to raise funds for CICRA.
Charities such as CICRA have been hit hard with many of their fundraising opportunities cancelled this year, so any donations and support are more than welcome, and greatly appreciated!
