Cardiff Half Marathon 2012 · 14 October 2012 ·

Swansea Bay Health Charity is the official charity of Swansea Bay University Health Board. We support the South West Wales Cancer Centre at Singleton Hospital, helping deliver lifesaving NHS treatments including radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Story

I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon which will be my first ever competitive running event. It will be a huge achievement for me and what I hope to be a great start to my 30th year.

With your encouragement, support and generosity I hope to raise a considerable amount of money for Golau Cancer Foundation to assist in the running of local hospices. In particular Y Bwthyn Newydd which is based at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.

This particular hospice is where my grandfather passed away following his battle with bowel cancer and where my family received exceptional help and support during an extremely difficult time. This is my way of remembering my grandfather, Elwyn Davies and give thanks to the staff of Y Bwthyn Newydd for the care and kindness they showed my Bampi and us as a family.
