Laura's Zambia Project

ICS Volunteer Restless Development · 31 December 2020 ·
Hi, I am 18 years old and currently on my gap year ahead of going off to university next year. I am fundraising for a life-changing experience to volunteer abroad for 3 months, through International Citizen Service, with the organisation Restless Development. In February 2016, I will travel to Zambia to live with a local family and work on a youth empowerment project. This involves working closely with young adults in the community, educating them on prevention of HIV/AIDS and general life skills, such as applying for jobs. Through this, I hope to have a far-reaching and long-standing positive impact on those with whom we work and also on myself.
I've been set a target of £1500 to raise by Restless Development. However this does not go towards my flights/accommodation etc; instead this goes towards helping future volunteers from different social backgrounds to also have the opportunity to make a difference in such a scheme.
I would be so grateful for any donation, however big or small.
