Chester Half Marathon 2018 · 29 April 2018 ·

Hearing words like 'autism', or 'learning difficulty' can be devastating for parents. Seeing someone you care about affected by stroke is devastating. B.I.R.D. offers a therapy programme to achieve their true potential. Your support will help more families seeking our support.

Story

I am running the Chester Half Marathon in April for the B.I.R.D Charity.

The BIRD Charity supports children and adults who have experienced a brain injury, have a learning difficulty or no diagnosis at all but who are struggling to keep up with with their peers, to reach their full potential.

As one of the Clinical Therapists at the B.I.R.D Charity, I have had the pleasure of witnessing the incredible impact that the B.I.R.D therapy has on the lives of the individuals that we treat and their families.

B.I.R.D has also treated two members of my family who both did incredibly well on the therapy programme and is therefore a personal cause as well as professional.

B.I.R.D does not receive any statutory funding and can only continue its work with the generosity of its supporters. The Chester Half Marathon will be my first ever half marathon, which is nerve-racking, but I am looking forward to raising money for a brilliant cause which I am very passionate about.

Many thanks in advance for any generous support received!
