Pilgrims Hospices is a charity providing palliative care, free of charge, to people in east Kent. For people with a range of life-limiting illnesses, specialist services are provided from our three hospices in Canterbury, Ashford and Thanet, in patients' homes and via community programmes.

Story

Two years ago our daughter Verity decided after watching a TV programme that she wanted to do something to help children who have lost their hair through illness. She thought about what it must feel like to be ill, not feeling your best anyway and then have the added stress of losing your hair. So, bravely and very selflessly, Verity planned to grow her own hair long enough to donate it to a children's charity who specialise in wig making. Her thought behind this being that she is lucky enough that her own hair will grow back whereas others are not so fortunate.

Verity has also decided to hold a sponsored 'head shave' and has chosen a Miley Cyrus inspired hair style which is shaved at the sides and has a little length at the front, a drastic change from what she has been used to.

All money raised will be donated to The Pilgrims Hospice in Ashford, the charity of Verity's choice.

Verity is only 12. She is braver than we are, probably braver than most... Please help her by sponsoring and giving whatever you can afford. Help Verity make this a worthwhile venture for two very worthwhile charities.
