Story
Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the DIFC London to Brighton cycle ride (54 miles - I will make it past the finish line somehow!!!) on 11th September for beat and I am hoping to raise £500 for the charity.
Over a year ago now, a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with suffering from an eating disorder which has greatly affected her life and her families. Seeing what eating disorders can do and how serious they are has been extremely difficult. Beat's website has helped me and so many others understand and realise how people with eating disorders feel and what they are going through.
Beat is the leading UK charity for people with eating disorders and their families. Eating disorders are a serious mental illness affecting 1.6 MILLION people in the UK. Beat provides helplines for adults and young people, online support (which has been of a great help to me) and a UK-wide network of self-help groups to help people beat their eating disorder. For the great support they provide to millions of people, I have chosen beat as the charity I would like to fundraise for. Their work is truly amazing.
Beat's vision is simple: Eating Disorders will be Beaten. By sponsoring me to complete this cycle ride, we are all helping beat achieve their vision.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
By sponsoring me to complete this (ridiculously long) cycle ride which is a BIG challenge that I am up for taking on, your money will help beat continue to provide widely needed support for those suffering with an eating disorder and the people close to them.
Any amount is welcome... EVERY LITTLE HELPS! :)
