Story

2020 has had its ups and downs. I know at times I have felt more isolated and anxious. There are new stresses with more of us facing loneliness, losing loved ones, and struggling with our mental health. At the moment everyone needs looking after.

Samaritans provide a listening service to help prevent people from dying by suicide and campaigns for investment in suicide prevention. Samaritans offer support over the phone, their app or face to face. £96 could train and support a Samaritans volunteer for a whole year. Samaritans branches are entirely responsible for raising funds to maintain themselves so volunteers and fundraising have a crucial role.

I've decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in May 2021 in support of Samaritans work. I know this is easier said than done especially as I get out of breath running up the stairs and would rather hide under my quilt covers than train for a marathon over Christmas. I have a target of £600 and I'm asking for small donations to help make this happen, from friends, family and anyone else that has serious  doubts about me making the finish line. Thanks everybody :)
